13th Birthday blast!

There are many times when Melissa and I wish we were 13 again, and this party definitely made us envious that we aren't! Kate (who you may recognize as one of our ZOOM camp graduates from a few years back!) turned 13 and her parents wanted to throw her a party to remember that would mean a lot to her. Given Kate's love and talent for photography, Kate's mom asked if we would help her organize a party combining Kate's passion for photography and her love for her friends. We had balloons, cake, some serious high heel shoes, lots of laughter, super cool glitter and nine giggly 13 year old girls!! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting each and every one of Kate's friends - we can see why they have a special place in Kate's heart. Happy Birthday, sweet Kate! We love seeing you become such a strong, lovely, kind and fun teenager!

Wild about Liam!!

This is Liam's 6 month photo session (although he is sneaking up to 8 months in these images!!) and we couldn't resist having Mom and Dad bring some of Dad's hockey equipment and their favorite team jersey to the session. By the look on Liam's face, he seems to have been taken with hockey even at such a young age. 6 months old is so sweet-Liam's big smiles, contagious giggles, those two new teeth and the pride he took in sitting up on his own like a big boy!! We can't wait to see what his one year old session will bring!!

Happy #10 Anniversary, Jill and Mike!!

Jill and Mike wanted to celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss in style!! They asked us if we could help them recreate their wedding photos by creating stunning, romantic images at the Como Conservatory where their wedding took place 10 years ago. To say the least, we were thrilled. Jill and Mike are a beautiful couple and the more you get to know them, the more you can see how truly in love they are. 10 years of marriage and 3 kids later, they still exude happiness and love-through it all. We picked a snowy day in December (which was a miracle during a winter where we have had so little snow in Minnesota), Jill and Mike came decked out in wedding attire (Jill wore her actual wedding dress!!) and even braved the elements as we trekked through snow up a hill to get some magnificent outdoor images. This had to be one of our favorite sessions of 2011. Happy 10 years, Mike and Jill!! We can't wait to help you celebrate more milestone anniversaries in the years to come!!

Walker-Class of 2012

Walker was our last senior photo session of 2011 and it took place just before our holiday break at the studio in December-typically, not outdoor/on location kind of weather! However, Walker was game for anything so we made it out to the alley in below freezing temps. Super cool, right? We really enjoyed our time with Walker-we have gotten to know his family when his older sister, Maggie, came to us for her senior portraits a few years ago. And next up is Walker's younger sister, Molly, who will be a senior next year! It has been a blast getting to know these siblings and watch them graduate and move on in their lives. Congratulations, Walker!!

Adoring Annie

How could you not fall in love with sweet Annie from the moment you lay eyes on her? Annie, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, came to us with her owners, Karen and Bob whom we equally adore! Annie certainly knew how to work the camera and lapped up all of the attention we showered her while she was in the studio. We also really captured the adoring relationship between Annie and Karen-she is her momma's girl!! We know these images are going to be treasured forever. Good girl, Annie!!

Flashback to Fall!!!

This is one of our last fall sessions in 2011 that we haven't had a chance to share yet. It was a gorgeous late fall day when the sun was absolutely delicious and warm. Mmmmm... We photographed brother and sister Olivia and Connor-it had been a year since we had seen them and were amazed at what lovely teenagers they have become. We are excited that Connor will be back at the studio this summer for his senior session which is hard to believe!! Where does the time go?!?

Introducing Minnesota Baby Blog!

From time to time, we come across products, ideas, people and websites that we love and we must share them with you!! This is one of those times! We are so excited to be collaborating and partnering with Minnesota Baby- an online blog extraordinaire! Minnesota Baby Founder, Melissa Saigh, is a former TV producer/reporter/anchor, turned full-time mom to Baby Linna, mommy-blogger, and on-air brand ambassador. Melissa and her husband AJ welcomed Linna Jane into the world on August 8th, 2011, and you can read about their pregnancy and parenting journey on the Minnesota Baby Blog (www.minnesotababy.blogspot.com). Melissa reviews baby and mommy-friendly products, services, recipes, and events on MinnesotaBaby.org. They are always running fabulous contests and giveaways so check them out! We met Melissa a few years ago while she was a producer on Twin Cities Live and we immediately clicked!

Recently, Melissa asked us to photograph her and Linna for her website and we couldn't have been happier to hang with the two of them in our studio one afternoon. Baby Linna is darling and loves the camera!! We can't wait for more photo sessions with Linna as she gets bigger!! Wait til you see her stylish wardrobe!

A new puppy to love!!!

Meet Lena!! Lena is so lucky to have been adopted into such a loving family with four kiddos to cuddle and care for her! Lena arrived in the late fall and came into the studio soon after to have puppy photos taken-she loved the attention and indulged us by making her up as a girly-girl. I think she rather enjoyed the pink princess chair, don't you? We can't wait to see Lena again when she is all grown!! Congratulations!!

SNOW session Day-February 20th!

February 20th is the day! SNOW SESSION DAY!! We are missing one key ingredient .... snow!! But we have faith that if we plan it, snow will come!! We have a limited number of sessions left so schedule yours soon! Since it is President's Day, the kids are off school-what better way to spend some time that day?

We have a limited number of snow sessions left(10 sessions maximum). We have been taking reservations on a first come-first serve basis. Location to be determined. Each session will be approximately 20 minutes. Session fee is $45 per family and due at the time of booking. We encourage fun hats, colorful scarves and silly mittens.

If February 20th is not a good day for you, give us a call anyway, and we may be able to make other arrangements for a different day.

Ordering sessions at the studio to view and order your images will be scheduled approximately one week following the snow session.

Birthday Girl!

Happy 1st birthday, sweet Ava!! Ava has a very special birthday-December 24th. So to celebrate her big day, Ava came into the studio just before the holiday break to enjoy her first birthday cake. Ava's big brother John had his first birthday cake at our studio a few years back-and one of his cake images is still one of our all time favorite cake images EVER!! (although Ava's might be giving him a run for his money!) Big brother John came to this session as well and was sooo impressed with the session that he set up his own photo session for his sister at home afterward! Mom sent us one of his images so we are including it here on the blog-a budding photographer!!! Maybe he will be of our ZOOM Campers in a few years?!?
