Surf's up in Canada!!

I am blogging to you from my vacation in Canada....we all survived the annual 14 hour road trip and arrived at my parents' cottage on Lake Huron in Blue Point Bay, Ontario last weekend. It was an uneventful drive which is always a bonus! Upon arriving at the cottage, the boys found their presents from Yaya and Papa...new boogie boards! How cool!! The waves are rather tame but the boys have been entertained for hours! They have lived at the beach...in fact, the other nite they had their nightly bath in Lake Huron, complete with body wash and shampoo! Nothing like summer vacation!!

Three sisters!

If you are a faithful blog follower of ours, you will have noticed a recent run on "sister sessions"! We have had many girls sessions lately...funny how that happens!! Next month, it will probably be all boys! This darling trio were a blast to photograph! Not having any sisters myself, when I see these images, I feel like I have missed out on this great club "sisterhood". You can tell that these girls' friendship will reach well into adulthood. They are very blessed!

You are my sunshine....

We photographed this lovely family on a perfect summer morning! We started off in the studio but we couldn't resist heading over to a nearby park in St Paul by the Mississippi River to complete the session in the warm sunshine. I love how the girls look sunkissed and glowing! Olivia, who is 4 years old is the big sister to one year old Hazel and was very kind and nurturing to her little sister. We also loved capturing the love between each girl and their parents - those loving glances, sweet smiles and heartwarming embraces. It makes us smile from the inside out!

Giggles and Whispers!!!

Isabel and Greta are sisters with great energy, infectious laughter and playful spirits! Our photo session included some time in the studio photographing the girls in the most precious white, vintage dresses...stunning! After some time outdoors in summery sundresses, the girls changed into tutus for some final images back in the studio. And we even included mom and dad during this session! The result? We have almost completed a fine art book of all of the images so they can savor this session forever! (we can't wait for mom and dad to see it!!!)

Fun Siblings!

We met this family as a result of them bidding on and winning a Miroslavich Photography gift certificate at the Minnehaha Academy Silent Auction this spring....it is such a fun way to meet families while supporting some great local schools.

Hannah and Kevin are really great kids and we so enjoyed meeting them! You can really tell from these images that they get along well as brother and sister...which is not always easy, we know!! Now their parents can look back at these portraits years from now and remember their relationship fondly! And that always gives us such a good feeling!

Leaps and bounds!

This session was all about leaps and bounds! How great is this first image?!?! This is Lulu leaping over a very patient Koda...apparently Lulu likes to do this all the time so we knew we had to capture it during a session and Melissa was able to do it!! Koda and Lulu belong to Tracie and Dave...what a wonderful family they are! We spent some time with them at their home and then we moved to a great outdoor location shortly before sunset to be able to take full advantage of the warm, rich light that time of the day. We so enjoyed Koda and Lulu's unique personalities and how they well they get along with each other! Their family portrait will be proudly displayed in their newly remodeled lower level above their fireplace....we can't wait to see it there!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Almost every year we head over to a neighbor's 4th of July party and the girls want to bring brownies we make and decorate. Luckily this year they decided to NOT go with the festive blue of years past! Instead we decorated with blue and red sugar and fireworks (to the untrained eye it might have looked like snowflakes...). I found these super cute aprons, and avoided getting frosting on their PJs this year. Yeah! First time ever! The aprons are so cute I thought I would share where I found them. Photo Sessions booking up!!!

It seems hard to believe that we are into July already! Why does summer seem to fly by???? Even though it is only July 2nd, we only have one photo session left in the month of July with August booking up quickly. We have started scheduling sessions for Sept-Nov 2009. If you are thinking about a late summer/early fall session, give us a call or email us soon. Those holiday deadlines will be here before you know it!!
In the meantime, enjoy the 4th of July weekend! Take in some sun, some fireworks, relax and have fun!!!
