Taking Great Pet Photos...on Twin Cities Live!

In case you missed it, here is the link to our segment on Twin Cities Live this afternoon featuring Melissa sharing some tips on how to take great pet photographs! You can see Melissa "in action" during a photo session for Parker (our new Springer Spaniel friend!) at the studio last week! You never know what is going to happen during a pet session...and you will see what I mean when you view the video! And don't forget to check out our exclusive TCL promotion that will run from now til the end of November!

Twin Cities Live today at 3pm

It's a big day in Minnesota today! Not only did we wake up to 2 inches + of snow (I am dead serious!), it is also the day that Melissa returns to Twin Cities Live for a segment about taking beautiful photographs of pets! TCL producer Melissa Specken and cameraman, Seth, came out to the studio on Friday to film us during a session with Parker, a gorgeous Springer Spaniel! Tune in today to see the results!

New puppy joins our crazy household

The Miroslavich family is excited to introduce the newest addition to our family ... Toula, a french bulldog puppy! Isn't she the cutest thing you ever did see? She came to our house early this fall, and stole our hearts immediately. Here are some of our favorite moments during the past several weeks. Note: she is into EVERYTHING, afraid of nothing, plays with our springer spaniel like crazy, and loves to steal shoes. The cats don't seem to like her, the kids can't stop hugging her, and potty training is yucky now that it is getting colder.

Yaya & Papa!

Many of you who know me, know that our families live back home in Canada so it is very special when we have family visit us! Last year at Christmas time, my mom (aka Yaya) told me that all she wanted for Christmas was portraits of her, my dad (aka Papa) and our boys. Well, I couldn't have been more pleased! Not only was this session a wonderful gift for them, it has also become a wonderful gift for our boys who will be able to have these images forever! During their recent visit to Minnesota, we spent time on a crisp, sunny morning having fun in this meadow. As the holidays draw nearer, think about a "grandparent" session as a gift-you will cherish it as much as we do!

Come sail away with me!

These images of 8 year old Sailor seem to be inviting us to take a sunset cruise along the St Croix River...he is very appropriately named. Sailor is a Miniature Longhaired Dachsund and is apparently the king of the palace at home! His family also has 2 other dogs but Sailor definitely rules the household, even though he is the smallest! This session was during a recent lovely, warm evening as the sun set and Sailor certainly loved running and playing along the shore of the St Croix.

Long distance cousins!

This darling foursome are cousins who absolutely adore one another! Connor and Emma live here in Minnesota and Harrison and Jordan and live out east but when they are all together, the fun begins! Their moms are sisters and decided to have this photo session with the grandkids' and grandparents as a gift to their parents. And what a special gift this is! Can't you feel the love? We know they will cherish their portraits forever!

Starting Senior Year!!

Have I mentioned that it has been "Senior Sessions" time of year lately? We LOVE it!! These images are from a recent session with Lucy, a high school senior in the Twin Cities. What fun we had during this session! Lucy had great energy and spunk..and was willing to try all of our crazy ideas (including running through a meadow!) I think part of the fun for Melissa and I is that we are re-living our youth through these sessions (although would we really want to do high school over again????) Regardless, senior session "season" always breaths a new life into the studio and is so refreshing!

413 on Wacouta

Many of you may not know that the Gilbert Building, where the studio is located, also hosts many weddings and functions in their lower level, "413 on Wacouta". It is absolutely beautiful and stunning! We were recently asked to photograph the venue while it was set up for a wedding. We thought we should share the images with you. 413 on Wacouta hosts wonderful weddings! Our building opened in 1893. Today, it is on the National Registry of Historic Places and underwent major renovations in the mid-1980s. It is wonderful to have our studio in such a historic place with so much charm!

Class of 2010!

We love this time of year! Senior sessions are so refreshing and fun! There is something about the energy in these sessions...the excitement of what is to come, the milestone year that is beginning and the anticipation of the future. And this session had all of that energy! Claire has just begun her senior year and has lots of plans for the future. We are so thrilled for Claire and her family...and honored to have been able to capture all of this for them in these portraits! Way to go, Claire!!

Becoming a big boy!!!

Many of you may recognize Franklin from previous blogs...we have been lucky enough to photograph Franklin since he was a newborn! Now he is a 2 1/2 years old AND a big brother to 4 month old Lewis! But this photo session was all about Franklin and what a big boy he has become! We went on location to beautiful, quaint Afton on a quiet summer morning and let Franklin explore. He found bugs, a big puddle and at the very end, we found ice cream cones!! A perfect reward for a big boy!!!
