Summer Sun!!

On this super chilly November morning in Minnesota,  it is warms us up to look back at some of our summer sessions from this past summer.  It is also heartwarming to us to see such sweet siblings basking in the sun of a carefree summer day!  This cute trio are longtime friends of the studio so we were thrilled to capture them together this year.  As we kick off Thanksgiving week, we wish all of our blog readers and Miroslavich Photography family a very happy holiday!  We will be back blogging next week with some holiday gift ideas so check back then!!

2013 Family Fall Sessions!

Fall 2013 here in Minnesota has been nothing short of spectacular!  The warm weather has certainly been in our favor- delaying the fabulous colors or the trees a good couple of weeks.  That is allowing us to schedule outdoor sessions for families well into mid-late October. (although we do know from past experience, all it takes is one good windy day and all the leaves will be gone!)

Cousins!

What can be more fun and loving than cousins?  In our house, we have just come off three weeks with various cousins visiting from Canada and there was nothing more heartwarming as a parent than to see their kiddos interact, play, belly-laugh, be silly, loving and sweet with their cousins.  Especially when cousins do not get to see each other because of geographical distance!  This is the case with these four lovely girls!! Two sisters live here in Minnesota and two sisters live in Texas (can you tell who are sisters?!?!) So when the Texas sisters came up to Minnesota to spend part of their summer vacation with their cousins, it was only natural that a photo session was scheduled as a gift to their grandparents. The result?  Four super cute girls coordinated in the best outfits ever having a fabulous time in the studio with us while we captured the love between them!  BEST gift ever to grandma and grandpa!!!  We know these images are going to provide much joy and pleasure as they are displayed for years to come!!

Twin Cities Live!!

Many of you were able to catch Melissa on Twin Cities Live yesterday - the hottest day of our Minnesota summer!  Looking cool and composed on camera as always, Melissa talked about taking summer pictures around water and avoiding some of the common challenges associated with that.  The sun, water,  overexposure and squinting can work against you capturing those awesome summer memories! Family love!

We created these beautiful images of this family earlier this year on a lovely summer day-not too early in the day as pre-teen/teen siblings don't tend to rise early in the summer months!! This brother and sister were very sweet to each other and we had fun with Abby in her cowboy hat!  Look at that style!! We love these images of them and are so happy they are thrilled with their new family portraits proudly displayed in their home for all to enjoy!!!

Email a photo of your child (age 0 - 12) enjoying the spring weather in Minnesota, to info@minnesotababy.org by Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at 6 p.m.. Please include the child's name and age. Also, include your name and contact info (will not be published). All photos will be displayed on the Minnesota Baby Facebook page, for your friends and family to vote on (by "liking" and/or commenting on the photo). The three photos with the most "likes" and comments will be presented to Melissa Miroslavich, and she will determine her favorite photo. That person will win a photo session and $150 photo credit from Miroslavich Photography! Voting begins on April 29th at 9 p.m., and wraps up on Saturday, May 5th at 9 p.m. Our winner will be announced on Sunday, May 6th.

ZOOM Photography Camp for Kids

We are now registering kids for ZOOM Camp! We are excited that we have new campers signed up and ready to get started!! We still have a few spots open and would love for more kids to join in on the fun! Here are the details:

When: June 11-14, 2012-9:30am-12:30pm
Where: Miroslavich Photography Studio in downtown Saint Paul and Saint Paul locations within walking distance from the studio.

We will be creating a portfolio of images that will be displayed at the ZOOM Art Show by camp artists on Wednesday June 20 from 6pm-7:30pm. Images will demonstrate knowledge gained of basic composition, camera controls, location shooting and portraiture. Each camper must bring a digital camera (SLR preferred). Some of the images above were created by ZOOM campers in years' past! Aren't they cool?

Fee: $255 required upon enrollment.

February 20th-SNOW SESSION DAY!!!!

The date has been set-now all we have to do is make sure we keep our snow (and get more!!) Monday February 20th (President's Day) is the day we have chosen for our Snow Session Day! Since all kids will be off school, what a better way to spend some time that day?!

We have had so many requests from our clients for sessions in the snow, we thought we would finally do it this winter. We live in a cold weather climate-so many of us love all that winter has to offer. We all have memories of pond skating, skiing, snowman building, hockey, snow angels and who could forget hot cocoa? Embrace winter. Embrace the snow. Make memories. Let us help you preserve these memories.

We are offering a limited number of snow sessions (10 sessions maximum). We will take reservations on a first come-first serve basis. Location to be determined. Each session will be approximately 20 minutes. Session fee is $45 per family and due at the time of booking. We encourage fun hats, colorful scarves and silly mittens.

If February 20th is not a good day for you, give us a call anyway, and we may be able to make other arrangements for a different day.

Ordering sessions at the studio to view and order your images will be scheduled approximately one week following the snow session.

We have already scheduled almost half of our 10 sessions so call us soon at 651.343.4823 to get in while we still have sessions! And in the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that we can keep this snow!!

Announcing upcoming Snow Sessions!

We are excited to announce our upcoming Miroslavich Photography Snow sessions...we are just missing one key ingredient. SNOW. However, we are in Minnesota and it is only a matter of time before we get a big dumping of snow, so no worries!

As soon as we do get snow, we are planning to have a day of snowy sessions! We have had so many requests from our clients for sessions in the snow, we thought we would finally do it this winter. If the date we choose is not good for you once we schedule the date, your session fee is 100% refundable. We will have a wait list to call should we have openings.

Nate - Class of 2012

Really this blog entry should be entitled Nate the Great as we are a big fan of this high school senior! Nate came to us as a referral from another awesome senior at his high school. From the moment we met Nate (and his mom!) we knew it was going to be a fun session. Nate is a basketball fan and brought his collection of super cool sneakers to the session which we had to capture. In addition to that, Nate has a passion and talent for beatboxing which he also brought with him. Melissa and I were very intrigued to learn more!! It never ceases to amaze us how amazingly talented and interesting the seniors we get to meet! We so loved working with Nate-we know there are great things in your future, Nate, and we look forward to seeing what adventures await you.

Family and Fall Leaves!

With snow now on the ground in Minnesota, this cool crisp fall morning seems like it was ages ago! Fall in Minnesota never seems long enough-maybe because we aren't looking forward to the long months of winter! So as I look at these images, I remember this fall morning fondly when we spent time with a lovely family. The previous time we photographed this family, it was the heat of summer and we were looking for shade.

We love the playfulness of this session and how much fun these brothers had exploring the park, throwing leaves at each other, mom and dad and Melissa and I, too!! Joining them for this session was their lovely nanny, Sarah, who we captured with the boys, as well. Very sweet!! We know that they will enjoy viewing these portraits displayed in their family room and the punch of these great colors will be spectacular! (Jackie never ceases to amaze us with her talents in decorating and displaying art in her home!)

Irish eyes are smiling...

Imagine having four children under 5 years old...yes, it is hard to imagine. However, this beautiful family is living proof that you can survive it and have some of the loveliest children around. Having known this family for many years, it is easy to smile seeing them becoming big kids full of love, wisdom and compassion. Easy to do when you have two great parents. We are thrilled that they chose us to create these wonderful images of their growing family.

Fun in downtown St Paul!

We are so lucky to meet such fabulous families! This particular cute family came to us as the winning recipient of one of our gift certificates at a local school silent auction. (We love supporting our local schools!) It has been great getting to know them better. Bella and Derek were a blast to capture! Bella showed off some of her groovy yoga moves (can you tell that Mom is a yoga instructor?!) and Derek dazzled Melissa with his sweet personality and sense of humor. We are fortunate that we have such fantastic locations in downtown Saint Paul to use right outside the studio door. Urban alleys and lush green parks are right there! And of course, it helps when we have pretty darn cute kids to photograph!!
