Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

What are little boys made of?  These three adorable gentlemen would be made of fun and sweetness and laughter.  We've been capturing images of these three charmers since they were babies.  They are so cute together and yet each has their own distinct personality (check out "fierce" Ben in the image above). : )   We had a great summer session with this cute family!

Blue eyed boy!

It started out as a 6 month old, blue eyed boy session. But Oliver was totally willing to "share" his time in the spotlight with his big brother and sisters!!  And what fun we had!!  2 year old sweet, loving Christopher adores his baby brother!! Free-spirited 7 year old Vivian had a blast being silly and funny with Melissa during the session and big sister, Isabelle, was definitely the "mother hen" of the group with her nurturing and sweet nature!  We adored their session and can't wait for Oliver's 1 year session this fall!!

Isaac is sitting up!!

Baby Isaac came back to us not long ago once he was sitting up like a big boy all on his own!  How sweet is he?  Of course, he brought his toy elephant with him to this session. Remember these adorable images from Isaac's newborn session? Click here:

The session wouldn't be complete without big brother John coming along, too!  Love these brothers!  We cannot wait to see Isaac at his one year old session later this year!  So fun to see this lovely family!!

PhotoStyled Fun!

An early summer morning, a fabulous family of 5 and perfect Minnesota weather (with no bugs!!).  Who could ask for anything more?!? Add to this combination two big brothers who simply adore and dote on their little sister and we had an awesome morning!! This family also was one of our Photostyled sessions which we launched last fall.  PhotoStyled sessions are for clients who want even more help in putting the finishing touches on clothing coordination and also for clients who "want it all"!  The cool thing is the styling process is still a completely collaborative experience.  We actually have two options for your styled portrait experience.  ClothingStyled provies additional help with clothing choices.  A stylist actually comes to your home and coordinates your family's outfits.  PhotoStyled takes this another step further marrying visual design with relationship photography to turn your session into a conceptual masterpiece (think magazine ad).  Not only do we provide a stylist for clothing design and extra help during your session (the stylist came to this family's session to help!), we also complete an in-home consultation to discuss unique portrait display options and ultimately hang your art for you while you ohh and ahh over your new art piece.  It's for when good enough, just isn't!  

Welcome to the world, Baby Isaac!!!

Over the past two years since big brother John was born, we have gotten to know and grown to adore this cute family!  This spring, they grew by one when Baby Isaac arrived on the scene!!  And what a cutie he is!!!  We loved photographing Isaac's newborn portraits when he was 4 days old. Of course, John joined in the fun and we captured some 2 year old images of him with his favorite toy right now-a firetruck!!  We couldn't resist the elephant images and can't wait to add the elephant into Isaac's 6 and 12 month sessions!!  Congratulations on the arrival of Issac!!

We are family.

Oliver. Louie. Jinx. Gus.    These four win the prize for the four best behaved dogs together in our studio EVER. Not only are they the sweetest family of four legged friends, they were a pleasure to photograph.  Each with his own personality.  Gus as the smallest guy with a big personality .  Oliver as the big grandpa of the group (even though he is the second youngest of the group!) Louie was the one who was a little nervous at first but quickly warmed up and was so sweet.  And finally Jinx whose name certainly suits him.  We loved working with their "dad" Mike whose love for these four was very apparent!  Mike is the owner of a local pet store, Pet Evolution ( http://www.petevolution.com ) where Melissa has gotten to know over the past year or two.  Pet Evolution is a great spot to stock up on all of your pet needs!  If you are in the area, be sure to stop there Saturday May 11 from 1-5pm for their Customer Appreciation Day. You may even recognize some of the portraits on display in the store!!

Backyard Fun!

Minnesota summers are the best-everyone who lives here would agree! And what could be better than hanging out with this cute family in their summer backyard?  Franklin and Lewis are brothers who are no strangers to this blog!  Over the years we have captured them and their family at various times in their lives, documenting their growth, development and relationship as brothers. We adore watching them grow up! On this occasion, it was all about playing, running and having fun with each other and their fur-brother, Stu!  Being 3 and 5 years old is pretty darn good, I'd say!!

Backyard fun!

Sometimes the best sessions take place in your own backyard!  This was certainly was the case with these cute brothers!!  Their gorgeous backyard made it the perfect setting for their session this summer-if only all of our yards looked this good!  Not to mention the boys were at ease and comfortable running around their yard and letting Melissa capture these great moments while they played with their dog, Baxter.  Of course, Baxter thought it was his own photo session and posed perfectly for the camera!
