Pretty in Pink!

So far, 2014 has been the year of babies!! Newborns, 6 month olds, nearly year old babes- you name it!   With each new baby, we marvel at the new-ness and sweetness of each one! Baby Lauren came to us at just a few days old with her family including big brother Jack who is all of 21 months old. After almost 2 years of little boy cuteness, Mom is certainly excited to be adding pink into the mix!  And it seems to be Lauren's color! Next up-Jack's 2 year old session this summer when Lauren is closer to 6 months old and when we can be basking in the summer sun!!

Welcome to the world, Baby Isaac!!!

Over the past two years since big brother John was born, we have gotten to know and grown to adore this cute family!  This spring, they grew by one when Baby Isaac arrived on the scene!!  And what a cutie he is!!!  We loved photographing Isaac's newborn portraits when he was 4 days old. Of course, John joined in the fun and we captured some 2 year old images of him with his favorite toy right now-a firetruck!!  We couldn't resist the elephant images and can't wait to add the elephant into Isaac's 6 and 12 month sessions!!  Congratulations on the arrival of Issac!!

Brown-eyed girls!!

These lovely sisters (who actually have brown eyes and hazel eyes respectively but I couldn't help the title of this blog-it just seemed to fit them!!) were as sweet as can be when they were at the studio!  Stella, who was nearly 3, and Mylee, who was nearly 4 months old, were a blast to be with!! Stella's bubbly personality and mothering instincts with Mylee lit up the studio!  And little Mylee-loved smiling and making funny faces!! What darling ages!!  We can't wait to see how much they have grown the next time we see them!!  

Sweet Baby Henrik

Before we take a "blog-cation" for the holidays, we thought we would end 2012 with sweet portraits of Baby Henrik who was born earlier this fall!  What a handsome little baby boy!!  We felt like we already knew Henrik's parents as we have photographed so many of their extended family over the years!! It was fabulous to meet the newest member of the family. Henrik's mom brought with a beautiful blanket from his room and we jumped at the chance to have it be part of the portraits we created. He was so content and snuggly with his blanket. Henrik is super sweet! There is so much happiness in celebrating new life. We are so excited to be a part of his as he grows, sits, babbles and walks and talks, capturing each amazing milestone. Enjoy your families this holiday as we enjoy ours! We will return to the blog in the new year and until then we wish everyone a happy and health holiday!

Blue eyed bundle of love!

Cameron is a blue eyed beauty! 6 months old and full of smiles. Seriously, he must be one of the happiest babies of all time! We couldn't get enough of him: those delicious cheeks, chubby legs, sweet giggles and the way he only had eyes for his mama!! Last week, Cameron came back to the studio with his big sister, Maren. Wait til you see those images!! Stay tuned!!

Wild about Liam!!

This is Liam's 6 month photo session (although he is sneaking up to 8 months in these images!!) and we couldn't resist having Mom and Dad bring some of Dad's hockey equipment and their favorite team jersey to the session. By the look on Liam's face, he seems to have been taken with hockey even at such a young age. 6 months old is so sweet-Liam's big smiles, contagious giggles, those two new teeth and the pride he took in sitting up on his own like a big boy!! We can't wait to see what his one year old session will bring!!

From time to time, we come across products, ideas, people and websites that we love and we must share them with you!! This is one of those times! We are so excited to be collaborating and partnering with Minnesota Baby- an online blog extraordinaire! Minnesota Baby Founder, Melissa Saigh, is a former TV producer/reporter/anchor, turned full-time mom to Baby Linna, mommy-blogger, and on-air brand ambassador. Melissa and her husband AJ welcomed Linna Jane into the world on August 8th, 2011, and you can read about their pregnancy and parenting journey on the Minnesota Baby Blog (www.minnesotababy.blogspot.com). We met Melissa a few years ago while she was a producer on Twin Cities Live and we immediately clicked!

Recently, Melissa asked us to photograph her and Linna for her website and we couldn't have been happier to hang with the two of them in our studio one afternoon. Baby Linna is darling and loves the camera!! We can't wait for more photo sessions with Linna as she gets bigger!! Wait til you see her stylish wardrobe!

Holiday cheer!

I think this session truly got us into the holiday spirit!! When 6 month old John, his parents and their gorgeous dogs came in for this session it was still late October. However, when mom Kim pulled out one of dad's hats to put on Baby John, it was over the edge cute! This inspired Melissa to design a rockin' Christmas card for John's first Christmas! From beginning to end, this session was a blast! John was all smiles and giggles -especially with the addition of his dog siblings to the session at the end!! Nothing is better than a 6 month old laugh! We hope this darling family enjoys their first Christmas with Baby John!!

Jax is one!!!

We are loving these brothers!!! It has been incredible for us to see this family grow over the past year and a half. When we first met them, Baby Jax was still in mom's belly so we created beautiful family of 3 portraits of them. How special was that? At that time, Jose was 2 years old and life as he knew it was about to change with the arrival of a baby brother! Over the past year, we have witnessed the relationship of these sweet brothers develop and grow. And now that Jax is one, it is all about playing together and discovering new things to do and play with. Creating art for their home has been such a joy and we look forward to adding to their collection in the years to come. Happy Birthday, Jax!!

(Melissa is far too modest to announce this herself but that doesn't mean that I can't do some bragging!!) I am thrilled to share that the results of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) 2011 International Photographic Competition were just announced and Melissa merited with three of her images (General Collection, Showcase Book and Loan Collection -the Loan Collection is the highest possible honor to receive!) For those of you not in the know with these categories, this is a prestigous achievement-in other words: THIS IS HUGE!! I have included the three images that merited so you can see how truly remarkable and stunning the images created by Melissa truly are!

PPA's International Photographic Competition (IPC) is the gold standard for photography competitions and features the best of the best photographs from around the world in an exhibition every year. Having an image "go Loan"--chosen for inclusion in the world's most prestigious photo exhibit--is an achievement professional photographers cherish. Loan Collection images are on display throughout the year at PPA headquarters in Atlanta, and at various events worldwide, and will also be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection”


Melissa's images will be on display in the gallery at PPA’s annual convention, Imaging USA, in January 2012 in New Orleans, Louisana (and you can bet that we will be there, to!!)

Family of 3!

Have we mentioned before how much we LOVE babies?!? Maybe just a couple of times, right? And what could be better than a newborn baby just days old? Meet Baby John who was 8 days old when we met him for the first time. His parents, Rick and Kim, were super relaxed and calm for having a baby just days before-we were impressed! Baby John was a star-he slept through almost the entire session (we are hoping his parents are that lucky with him through the night!) The result of this beautiful, peaceful session-darling newborn images that Rick and Kim will one day look back at and wonder where those newborn days went? It is a fleeting moment so it is so special to have these beautiful portraits to remember the quiet moments at 3am when they have soothed John back to sleep. We look forward to capturing John when he is sitting up by himself and all smiles-it will be here before you know it!!
