Family Fun!

Time for a new family portrait was what prompted this family of 5 to come in to see us just before the holidays! Of course, it was a bonus for us that these three kiddos were exuding enthusiasm and fun!  And since we know that Melissa has a "thing" for hats-when they all brought out their fun, winter hats, it was the icing on the cake for this session!

Best Buds!

Blue eyed Ben recently became a big one year old and his older brother, Sam, became an even bigger 4 year old. What better way to celebrate these milestones than by a joint photo session capturing these brothers playing, having fun and just being boys?! Ben had just begun walking on his own so exploring the studio (and under chairs!) was top on his list of things to do that morning. Of course, Sam is a pro having his photo created at the studio and is able to show little Ben the ropes. We adore watching this family grow and being able to document these special occasions with portraits. Can't wait for our next session with them!

Spring into Summer!

This was a gorgeous session that took place just as spring became summer in Minnesota! And what a great family to kick off the summer with! A darling brother and sister, super sweet parents and an adorable pup named Hudson (after Hudson, Wisconsin, of course!) We started off in the studio and then moved outside for the rest of the session-there is something about photographing outside in Minnesota when the weather becomes great that really makes sessions feel special. It helped that this was a fun family - you can really tell that they love spending time together.

Jax is one!!!

We are loving these brothers!!! It has been incredible for us to see this family grow over the past year and a half. When we first met them, Baby Jax was still in mom's belly so we created beautiful family of 3 portraits of them. How special was that? At that time, Jose was 2 years old and life as he knew it was about to change with the arrival of a baby brother! Over the past year, we have witnessed the relationship of these sweet brothers develop and grow. And now that Jax is one, it is all about playing together and discovering new things to do and play with. Creating art for their home has been such a joy and we look forward to adding to their collection in the years to come. Happy Birthday, Jax!!

Brotherly love

Ben and Sam. You can't much cuter than these two. Just knowing this family makes us smile. Sam, the big brother at almost 4 years of age, and Ben, age 6 months, came in recently for Ben's 6 month session. Both boys were full of smiles and giggles. Of course, Sam is a pro at these photo sessions and likes "show" Ben how it is done. And you can tell already that Ben is going to want to do everything his big brother does! The session wouldn't be complete with a few images in the most adorable "Benjamin" hat that mom brought to the session-simply perfect! These are moments to cherish forever!

A Brand New Baby Brother!

We thought we would start off the new year with a brand new baby: Sawyer! Sawyer was born the night of the biggest snowstorm we have seen in the Twin Cities in almost 20 years!! Luckily it was a relatively quick drive to the hospital for Sawyer's mom, dad and two big sisters-who all got to spend the night at the hospital! We were lucky to meet Baby Sawyer when he was just 5 days old and very alert!! (he wins the award for the most alert baby we have had at the studio!!) It was very sweet seeing him with his big sisters, McKenna and Ella! He is going to be a very well cared for little brother with these two sisters doting on him. Congratulations!

Look at me! I'm 6 months old!

It seemed hard to believe it was time for Jax's 6 month session back in late September, but it was! Jax's family kindly invited us into their home for this photo session and we were pleased to go on location to their beautiful new house! Jax and big brother, Jose (who is now a big 3 year old!), loved hanging out together (and a little jumping on the bed!)and we could see how precious their relationship as brothers has become! Of course, we fell in love with Jax's nursery and how talented Mom is with decorating. It was especially nice for us to be in their home to create such special memories for them!

Before we know it, Jax will be turning one! Stay tuned for those images in a few months.....

Buddies...

Edison and Lucas are brothers but more than anything else, you can tell they are good buddies! Each have their own unique personalities which shone through at our session. We asked them each to bring something to the session that reflected their personality and interests. Lucas brought a baseball bat to the session-clearly a baseball fan! And Edison brought a model airplane that he had built himself-a future awaits him in engineering, we think! We had a fun time with the session-and they even were a part of the naming of the "schmermer"-next time you are at the studio, ask Melissa to show it to you!!

Bright, sunny smiles!

When this family walked into our studio for their family session, we could tell right away it was going to be an awesome day! Not only were they wearing the best, brightest colors, they all had huge smiles on-even grandma and grandpa who had to get up at the crack of dawn to drive to Saint Paul to be a part of the session! And we were so glad they did-their family images are so special and ones they will cherish forever! Capturing these brothers was also a blast-we have been photographing them since Jacob was just a little guy. We love watching them grow up together....and someday we will be capturing their senior portraits!
