Pretty in Pink!

So far, 2014 has been the year of babies!! Newborns, 6 month olds, nearly year old babes- you name it!   With each new baby, we marvel at the new-ness and sweetness of each one! Baby Lauren came to us at just a few days old with her family including big brother Jack who is all of 21 months old. After almost 2 years of little boy cuteness, Mom is certainly excited to be adding pink into the mix!  And it seems to be Lauren's color! Next up-Jack's 2 year old session this summer when Lauren is closer to 6 months old and when we can be basking in the summer sun!!

Welcome to the world, Baby Isaac!!!

Over the past two years since big brother John was born, we have gotten to know and grown to adore this cute family!  This spring, they grew by one when Baby Isaac arrived on the scene!!  And what a cutie he is!!!  We loved photographing Isaac's newborn portraits when he was 4 days old. Of course, John joined in the fun and we captured some 2 year old images of him with his favorite toy right now-a firetruck!!  We couldn't resist the elephant images and can't wait to add the elephant into Isaac's 6 and 12 month sessions!!  Congratulations on the arrival of Issac!!

Sweet Baby Henrik

Before we take a "blog-cation" for the holidays, we thought we would end 2012 with sweet portraits of Baby Henrik who was born earlier this fall!  What a handsome little baby boy!!  We felt like we already knew Henrik's parents as we have photographed so many of their extended family over the years!! It was fabulous to meet the newest member of the family. Henrik's mom brought with a beautiful blanket from his room and we jumped at the chance to have it be part of the portraits we created. He was so content and snuggly with his blanket. Henrik is super sweet! There is so much happiness in celebrating new life. We are so excited to be a part of his as he grows, sits, babbles and walks and talks, capturing each amazing milestone. Enjoy your families this holiday as we enjoy ours! We will return to the blog in the new year and until then we wish everyone a happy and health holiday!

Family of 3!

Have we mentioned before how much we LOVE babies?!? Maybe just a couple of times, right? And what could be better than a newborn baby just days old? Meet Baby John who was 8 days old when we met him for the first time. His parents, Rick and Kim, were super relaxed and calm for having a baby just days before-we were impressed! Baby John was a star-he slept through almost the entire session (we are hoping his parents are that lucky with him through the night!) The result of this beautiful, peaceful session-darling newborn images that Rick and Kim will one day look back at and wonder where those newborn days went? It is a fleeting moment so it is so special to have these beautiful portraits to remember the quiet moments at 3am when they have soothed John back to sleep. We look forward to capturing John when he is sitting up by himself and all smiles-it will be here before you know it!!

A Brand New Baby Brother!

We thought we would start off the new year with a brand new baby: Sawyer! Sawyer was born the night of the biggest snowstorm we have seen in the Twin Cities in almost 20 years!! Luckily it was a relatively quick drive to the hospital for Sawyer's mom, dad and two big sisters-who all got to spend the night at the hospital! We were lucky to meet Baby Sawyer when he was just 5 days old and very alert!! (he wins the award for the most alert baby we have had at the studio!!) It was very sweet seeing him with his big sisters, McKenna and Ella! He is going to be a very well cared for little brother with these two sisters doting on him. Congratulations!

A newborn brother!

Remember when we mentioned that this was the spring/summer of newborns?!? Well, we weren't kidding! We are still getting caught up on the blog from all of these adorable babes! We couldn't forget Baby Andrew (Drew). Drew has two older brothers; Brady who is almost 3 and Joe who is 9; and an older sister, Maddie, who is 4. What a good looking bunch! And they couldn't have been more doting on their new brother! We know Baby Drew is going to get lots of love and attention...and how lucky is mom to have all of that extra "help" at home?!? We can't wait to photograph Drew at 6 months and see how he has grown!

All tied up in a pretty bow!

The spring/summer of 2010 has certainly been the season of newborn babies for us at the studio! I can't remember when we photographed this many newborns within a few months! It has been so fun!

You may recall Jane's maternity images that we posted back in April-and how Jane might just win the award for the cutest pregnant mommy-to-be ever! Well, Baby Ellie arrived earlier this summer and we couldn't resist decking her out in a beautiful lavendar bow-to match her nursery! How sweet is she?!? Even though Ellie is their first, Jane and Garrett seemed like old pros with their newborn! So relaxed and laid back...we think they should have 10 kids! Ellie is a much loved baby as the first grandbaby on both sides...we know she is going to be spoiled with love and kisses and who could blame them?!?! Congratulations, Jane and Garrett! We can't wait to watch Ellie grow!

Brand new Ben!

Welcome to the world, Baby Ben!! We are so happy to meet Ben! He is the darling little brother to Sam, who we have photographed since he was a newborn! Ben arrived a couple of weeks early so he was just a little peanut when he came to the studio at 5 days of age for this photo session. However, before long he will be catching up to his big bro and taking after mom and dad's height! We can't wait to see Ben and Sam's relationship as brothers unfold over this next year and then many years to come! Congratulations!!!

Sweet Baby Eleanor

We are pleased to introduce Baby Eleanor! The baby sister of two very proud big brothers, Brennan and Davis! We have been photographing oldest brother Brennan since he was a baby so we are tickled pink (literally!) to be capturing the newborn moments of their baby sister! Despite the fact that she was only 5 days old at this photo session, Eleanor was wide awake and alert...taking it all in! Finally, at the very end, she fell fast asleep...likely exhausted from all of the activity! Big brothers were big helps and very proud of their new baby! Dad and Mom seem to be adjusting very well to the new addition and lack of sleep! Mom bought this adorable tutu for Eleanor while she was pregnant so we were delighted to incorporate it into this session...although she will be well grown out of it by the time we see them all again for her 6 month session! Savor these moments...they fly by all too quickly!!!

Straight from his Television debut....meet Baby Grayson!!

You may already be familiar with Baby Grayson from his TV debut on Twin Cities Live last week!! Grayson and his parents rocked the newborn session...it was hard for us to believe that they are first time parents! So calm and relaxed with a 6 day old baby! We really loved their session and the images are very sweet! Congratulations to a wonderful new little family!!! We are looking forward to watching Grayson grow!

How to take great photos of newborns - today on Twin Cities Live!!

Don't forget to tune into Twin Cities Live today at 3pm (channel 5-KSTP-TV) as Melissa will be on a segment all about photographing newborns! The most adorable Baby Grayson was our baby model a couple of weeks ago at the sweet age of 6 days old!! He was a star and we can't wait for everyone (including his family) to see his gorgeous images!! Melissa is excited to be on Twin Cities Live today...it is always a fun time! (I am tagging along...hoping there might be a yummy food segment today with some delish samples! Mmmmm!)

A glorious spring morning....

We are pleased to introduce Baby Lewis! What a sweetie!! Melissa spent a glorious morning at Lewis' family's house when Lewis was just 6 days old! She was able to capture all the newborn yumminess....sleeping soundly on a bed of pillows, morning bathtime, cuddles with big brother and sucking his tiny fingers! Lewis is the baby brother of Franklin who is 2 1/2 years old....Franklin has been photographed by Melissa since he was a newborn and is a superstar in front of the camera! You can see from the family image below, that Franklin is a very proud big brother!

And we can't forget about Stu, the golden retriever! Love this image!
