APRIL SNOW DAY!

April fools and we weren't joking! In an attempt to honor the cold weather we are currently having (hopefully for the last time this spring), I thought I would post some of my favorite images from the special storybook session we created on April Fool's Day this year. Amy has a wonderful family, and we decided to celebrate their fun-loving nature with the story of her family hanging out together in the beautiful snow, playing, wrestling, sledding and then heading back to the cozyness of home for hot chocolate. Together. All the kids were happy to accomodate our silly requests, and really dad and mom were kids too! Thanks for the fun gang, we know you will enjoy your storybook for years to come - even if those years put you on a beautiful beach in sunny summer weather.

And the party goes on.....

As you can see, the party was enjoyed by young and old! And the young certainly kept things hopping! At one point on Friday, we had over a dozen kids under 6 years old racing around the studio as all the parents socialized in our new space...it was great! Although, we are sure all of the parents didn't love the sugar high the kids had by the time they left the studio!
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us! We really appreciate all of your support!

A Grand Opening Indeed!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the grand opening on Friday and Saturday to visit. We were overjoyed with the response! And so happy to talk with each of you! We are looking forward to sharing a bright future with you and creating memories that will last a lifetime!
A huge thank you also goes out to our partners who gave so freely for the rockin' goodie bags! Our favorite treat award goes to Schindler Dog Trainging for her doggie treats - always the best interest of your pet in mind! The family award goes to Once Upon a Family for their wonderful ideas about family and creating memorable family traditions! The girlie award goes to Moppets on Main for their Fairy Parties (they have pirate parties too!). The wild award goes to Wild Child hair salon, having a wonderful opening themselves. The most fragrant award goes to the flowers of Sprigs. The decadent award goes to US for including chocolates. The posh award goes to Posh Pooch, keeping those pets in style. The playtime award goes to Dog Days, those dogs seem so happy to play the day away. The best way to keep in touch award goes to Snickerdoodle Stationery. And the tallest award goes to the Red Giraffe - a great place to find Stride-Rite shoes! Thank you all for helping make our grand opening a success. The sweetest award goes to Candylane.
A special thank you to my family, especially my dad (yes, he was the first to sign the guest book), my mom, my husband and the girls. You know I couldn't have created this without your help, support and love.
Also a thank you to the kids who came to visit and helped make the party much more lively! It took the kiddies no time at all to find the new treat treasure chest! And they all took part in the fun! I think the blue lollipops were the biggest hit. What flavor is that anyway?

Thank you Sprigs!

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous for our grand opening open house this past weekend. Thank you to Sprigs for the beautiful pieces you create! We loved everything!
Much like our process, Sprigs designer Carol and her fearless project guru Lisa, met with us to determine what would best fit our new space, collaborate on ideas, and then designed floral arrangements that fit with each of our special new spaces. Even the office had flair (see above!).
And since it's MN and only April, they went out of their way to find this gorgeouos hydrangea. A flower that travelled the absolute farthest to be a part of the party ... all the way from Australia. Sweet! (see below)
We were thrilled that they were able to "match" the new look of the new studio and help us celebrate with such creative and beautiful style.

Woodbury Bulletin!!!

Check out this Wednesday's edition of the Woodbury Bulletin.. woodburybulletin.com !! We made the front section (page 12A ) Many thanks to Louise Ernewein, Woodbury Bulletin "reporter extraordinaire", who came to the studio to interview us a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast while she was in the studio and I think we impressed her with our style, creativity and above all, our sense of fun and humor! The article also featured our grand opening event so we are anticipating a great turn out this weekend!! Hope to see many of you there!!

Our Grand Opening party is almost here! Please join us to celebrate the opening of our new studio space. It is going to be a blast! There will be door prizes for your family, a drawing every hour, and $100 from every session booked during the grand opening will be donated to the NICU fund of the Children's Hospital. Bring a friend and your family!

Yessiree I'm Walkin'

We have had wonderful year getting to know Franklin as he has grown from new baby into his toddlerhood. He is now the adventurer! Despite the weather we keep getting here in MN, Franklin was more than happy to explore the city and the wet snow. Just over a year now, he is a mover and a shaker. Enjoy some of my favorite images from his session and Franklin's story: my dad is tall, I love to read with my mom (especially the colorful books written by Todd Parr), and I am walkin' YEP I am walkin'.

Pretty in Pink!!

5 years old is such a special age....such a milestone! Starting kindergarten and entering the next phase of life! What better way to save this moment than to have these images forever? Morgan has just turned five and really had a blast with us at the studio! I think she really liked the individual time she had...as a younger sister to three older brothers, there isn't always time for "girly" things! How sweet is she????

First Birthday Cake time!!!

I think we had as much fun as David and his mom at his 1st Birthday session! David certainly got into his cake! At first he was a little cautious and not sure what to think of this beautiful, big cake in front of him. However, after a few minutes of gently tasting it, he had it everywhere! He was even sitting on the cake by the end of the session! I can't wait to hear all about his 1st birthday party in a couple of weeks and what he does to that cake!
Before cake time we were able to capture some stunning portaits of David and his mom together. It was precious how lovingly he looks at her and I think this portrait says it all!
