Sweet Baby Henrik

Before we take a "blog-cation" for the holidays, we thought we would end 2012 with sweet portraits of Baby Henrik who was born earlier this fall!  What a handsome little baby boy!!  We felt like we already knew Henrik's parents as we have photographed so many of their extended family over the years!! It was fabulous to meet the newest member of the family. Henrik's mom brought with a beautiful blanket from his room and we jumped at the chance to have it be part of the portraits we created. He was so content and snuggly with his blanket. Henrik is super sweet! There is so much happiness in celebrating new life. We are so excited to be a part of his as he grows, sits, babbles and walks and talks, capturing each amazing milestone. Enjoy your families this holiday as we enjoy ours! We will return to the blog in the new year and until then we wish everyone a happy and health holiday!

All I want for Christmas....

Okay, so I couldn't resist!! These images of Lily without her two front teeth made me think of the classic Christmas song we have all sung at one point in our lives!! So fitting for this 6 year old who lost those two teeth earlier this year!! We love this milestone but like all other childhood stages, it, too is a fleeting moment!! Before you know it, that big empty space in their mouth will be sprouting those grown up teeth that seem too big for those little mouths!!  It is great that Lily and Violet's mom was able to have us capture this moment to cherish forever!!  These sisters are a hoot together and we love their smiles and giggles!! 

Family love!

We created these beautiful images of this family earlier this year on a lovely summer day-not too early in the day as pre-teen/teen siblings don't tend to rise early in the summer months!! This brother and sister were very sweet to each other and we had fun with Abby in her cowboy hat!  Look at that style!! We love these images of them and are so happy they are thrilled with their new family portraits proudly displayed in their home for all to enjoy!!!

Christopher-Class of 2013

Last night I took my 11 year old to see the local high school's holiday production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas!  So well done, it was hard to believe that these were teenagers producing and acting in it!  I was pleased to see that one of our high school seniors whom we photographed this past summer, was performing in the production of White Christmas! Christopher is a senior who seems to wear a lot of hats at school and does very well balancing it all!!  He was excellent in White Christmas and I am sure his family is super proud of him!!  We had fun photographing Christopher and spent some time in studio and on location around the studio.  We even worked in a nod to his love of baseball!!  Enjoy the rest of your senior year, Christopher!!  We are sure it will be a great one for you!

Backyard Fun!

Minnesota summers are the best-everyone who lives here would agree! And what could be better than hanging out with this cute family in their summer backyard?  Franklin and Lewis are brothers who are no strangers to this blog!  Over the years we have captured them and their family at various times in their lives, documenting their growth, development and relationship as brothers. We adore watching them grow up! On this occasion, it was all about playing, running and having fun with each other and their fur-brother, Stu!  Being 3 and 5 years old is pretty darn good, I'd say!!

Twiggy!!

How many dogs do you know who can sit, stay, high five, twirl and jump?  There aren't many that we know but we did meet one recently-Twiggy!!  We photographed Twiggy's fur-sibling, Sally, a couple of years ago before their owner adopted Twiggy when she was 5 months old.  Twiggy was super-photogenic- you can tell from these images that she LOVED being photographed!!  She was so fun to work with and very eager to please!!  Personality plus!!!  We loved every minute of this session -and so did Twiggy!!!

Connor - Class of 2013

Connor is another one of our great high school seniors who we photographed late this past summer!  We have been photographing Connor's family for the past couple of years so it was great to already have that relationship with him when it came time for his senior session! Connor is an easy going and fun senior who put up with Melissa and I and all of our dorkiness-not to mention he was happy to go to the various locations we planned out for him.  He didn't even seem to mind the snake we encountered at one location spot!!   Good luck with your senior year, Connor!!  And we can't wait to photograph little sister Olivia in a few short years for her senior session!!

One Holiday at a Time! 

Before we get focused on the next-next big holiday, Christmas, we want to take time to celebrate an equally significant holiday. Happy Thanksgiving! This year, we want to stop and take in the spirit of giving thanks and give back again.  We are mindful that this year, we are thankful for so much including our new studio and so grateful for the opportunity to continue to have a business that creates such joy in the lives we touch.     

It started in 2009 with a challenge from a fellow photographer - to give the joy of photography to a family in need. Over the past three years, we have been humbled by the recipients of this gift. We created lasting memories of a family who lost their husband/father a few short months after we photographed them.  We photographed another family whose youngest child has a chronic illness and we were witness to such powerful love and support, it blew us away.  Another family was given the gift of senior portraits for their twin daughters who would not have been able to have them without this gift. We are always amazed by the families' resiliency but we are also so grateful for the thoughtfulness of the people who nominate them.  

This holiday season we are giving you the opportunity to give once again. If you are a client or friend, please join us by nominating someone in need. You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, has someone in their family that is terminally ill or someone who is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love and beauty.

Styling is here!

We are so excited to announce two new session options being offered at Miroslavich Photography. Whoop! Our clients know we consult on clothing and portrait ideas, but have you heard we can take this service to a whole new level? You bet we can. ClothingStyled and PhotoStyled are sessions for clients who want even more help in putting the finishing touches on clothing coordination and also for clients who want it all. The cool thing is the styling process is still a completely collaborative experience. There are two options for your styled portrait experience. ClothingStyled provides additional help with clothing choices. A stylist actually comes to your home and coordinates your family’s outfits. PhotoStyled takes this another step further marrying visual design with relationship photography to turn your session into a conceptual masterpiece. *Think magazine ad. Not only do we provide a stylist for clothing design and extra help during your session, we also complete an in-home consultation to discuss unique portrait display options and ultimately hang your art for you while oohing and aahing over your new art pieces. If you are looking for styling ideas, check out our Pinterest Live board in the studio. And if you've got the clothing thing down (and so many of you are oh-so-good at it) that's awesome too. Olivia - Class of 2013

It was a perfect fall morning when Olivia came to us for her senior session!  After some time in the studio, we headed outside to take advantage of the gorgeous light.  It was great to get to know Olivia and see her personality shine through in these portraits!  The youngest of three, Olivia will head off to college next year-we wish her all the best!  And we hope you have a wonderful senior year, Olivia!!!
