We were thrilled to be in the January edition of the magazine which included a very sweet photograph of Melissa with her 2 year old daughter, Marin. Woodbury Magazine interviewed Melissa with regards to the recent acceptance of her award from the Professional Photographer's of America.

Orthotic Care Services
We were very pleased when one of our clients, Scott Hinshon, contacted us to create photographs for Orthotic Care Services.
"Orthotic Care Services, Orthotics and Prosthetics, exist to enhance the quality of life by improving mobility and function for physically challenged individuals. They dedicate themselves to providing the highest quality prosthetic and orthotic care, and educating our patients, the public, and other professionals about our services. They have been choosen as a partner with Children's Hospitals and Clinics to be a part of there comprehensive Cranial Facial team."
Scott, Certified Orthotist, wanted to have photographs created of one of their darling patients wearing her cranial remolding helmet. Orthotic Care Services plan to use these images on their website and in brochures for the services provided through Childrens Hospital. Haley is 6 months old and I think everyone will agree....pink is most definitely her color!! She was very comfortable in her helmet, and we really enjoyed getting to know her! Oh those rosey cheeks ... very kissable.

Oh, to be two again!!
Isaiah has just turned two and his visit to the studio reminded us how awesome it must be to be two years old! He loved having fun and being silly but still loved his cuddles with mom which is when we were able to capture some of the real sweetness of his personality. The first image you see was when Isaiah was very intent in telling us about a bee sting on his foot during the summer. It was a monumental event in the life of a two year old. Darling.

Businesses to watch!
As some of you may know, Miroslavich Photography is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with some really great local businesses. Either it is a business we partner with for our displays or maybe the business has contacted us to create super-cool executive headshots for their website or business cards. In any case, we thought it would be interesting to feature a business on the blog on a regular basis to share with you these great people!
After 20 years of working in the educational multimedia field, Beth decided to start her own company. She wanted to “make a difference” so she decided to focus on developing products for non-profit and mission-driven organizations. The idea is to develop a product that they can sell to further their mission and generate additional revenue. Her first product is a training product for schools on character education. It will help students to develop their full potential, improve their relationships at school and at home, minimize bullying, and so much more.

We're baaaack!!!
Yes, we are back in the frozen tundra of Minnesota after 4 days in sunny, warm Arizona! Imaging USA was fantastic! It was a great experience...we learned lots, re-connected with other photographers, met new friends, and celebrated Melissa's award! 2009 is going to be an exciting year as we did lots of planning while we were gone and we can't wait to share our plans with all of you!
Melissa brought her point and shoot camera with her so we could post some images from our trip....don't be envious of the blue skies and sunny weather! (You may wonder why we have images of a stuffed animal...I'll explain! My boys give me a stuffed animal when I go away on trips so I can take photographs of the stuffed toy while I am gone. So, as a result, Melissa and I had fun capturing "Spot" doing various activities in Arizona!)

It was very exciting to see two of Melissa's portraits on display in the print exhibit at Imaging USA as finalists in the exhibition...(second column on the left)
(Spot enjoying some guacamole at the White House Custom Color reception...he found it a tad spicy)
(Spot enjoyed tanning on a rock when he had a spare moment)
We were able to meet up for lunch with a dear friend, Amy, while we were there! Amy now lives in Phoenix and we are very envious!

We're off to Arizona!!!
With only slight guilt leaving our husbands with the kids in sub zero degree weather in Minnesota, Melissa and I are leaving tomorrow for sunny, warm Phoenix, Arizona to immerse ourselves in the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Annual Conference, Imaging USA.
I am very pleased to announce that Melissa has won first place prize in the 2008 AN-NE Marketing Awards for the Miroslavich Photography website, "Where Eyes Dance, Dimples Dip, Hearts Skip". How great is that????Melissa also received finalist recognition in two additional categories, Best Image Marketing Campaign and Emerging Pro 2008. She will be awarded a trophy at PPA's Awards & Degree Ceremony at Imaging USA on Tuesday January 13th. Entries from around the country were submitted to the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) for this prestigious competition. A panel of three marketing and graphic design professionals carefully reviewed the entries, judging them on a variety of criteria including creativity, content, impact, and consumer appeal. What an incredible honor!!
We are very excited to also see what is new and exciting in the world of photography as our agenda is full of workshops, seminars, exhibits and more. It will also be cool to connect with some of our photographer friends from all over the country and make new friends while we are there!
So, we are off tomorrow! I am sure we will have some adventures to tell you about while we are there and of course, we will be posting some images from our trip as well!!

Belly Beautiful!!
Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or hatch.
--E.B. White, Charlotte's Web What an amazing time in a woman's life this is! It is extraordinary for us to be able to capture and preserve these pregnancy moments and bonding between mother and unborn child.
Tara and her husband are expecting their first child in late February - they have not found out the sex of the baby so stay tuned for a blog entry in early March with newborn images - we love a surprise and there is nothing better than this kind of surprise!
