Olivia turns one!

Sweet Olivia! What a doll!! Maybe you remember her darling 6 month images sucking her thumb? Well, look at her now! All grown up and ready to go! Toddling around the studio liked she owned it! Older brother Zach joined in the fun, too! We can hardly believe how big they are both getting...we love photographing them. It is always such a pleasure and a treat for us! Can't wait to see them again soon!!

Back to school...with holiday deadlines ahead!

Happy Back to School Day!!! Melissa and I got all of our respective children off to school/daycare today with lots of excitement, a few tears, some laughter and in our house, new shoes!! Every September, I manage to get a picture of my boys' feet in their new shoes!! They are so excited with their new purchases...and the shoes look so fresh and clean (which, trust me, won't last long!!!) In the Miroslavich house, they have a tradition on the first day of school of asking the girls' what they want to be when they grow up...this year's responses are a dolphin trainer (the first grader) and from the 3 year old: a mom and a horse. Out of the mouths of babes!!!

While everyone is settling into school, we have been busy at the studio and are in full swing for our fall photo sessions! In fact, our deadlines are fast approaching! In order for us to guarantee orders to be ready for the holidays in December, the deadline for photo sessions is October 30th. And the deadline to place orders, including holiday cards, is November 15th. Don't delay...we are booking into October now!!

Family kisses!

Check out little Jack's smile as mom and dad smother him in kisses!! This first image stood out to mom when she came in to view as it is part of their regular routine to have "family kisses"...I am so glad we were able to capture such a special time for them! Pretty soon, they will have to make room for another face to kiss as they are expecting Baby #2 this winter! Jack will become a big brother and have lots of love to share with a new little sister or brother!! (we can't wait to find out which one it will be!)

Rainy day giggles!!!

Sam, one of our recent Baby Collection grads, came into the studio soon after he turned 2 in April for this first session as a part of our Toddler Collection...and what a ball we had!! Not only is it so special for us to see kids like Sam whom we have been photographing since newborn, it is awesome that his parents have captured all of his ages/stages in portraits displayed in their home! We are going to have fun completing their wall of portraits over the next few years!

When Sam came in with his raincoat, we couldn't resist doing some chalk drawing on the chalkboard. Sam LOVED it!!! And very appropriate for an April birthday! Sam is such a sweetheart!!

This new designer piece is the Moxie which has become very popular this spring! Next time you are at the studio, ask to see it!! It rocks!!! Sam's parents have decided to have one each year of Sam during the Toddler Collection and display them together. How cool will that be?

Oh, to be two again!!

Isaiah has just turned two and his visit to the studio reminded us how awesome it must be to be two years old! He loved having fun and being silly but still loved his cuddles with mom which is when we were able to capture some of the real sweetness of his personality. The first image you see was when Isaiah was very intent in telling us about a bee sting on his foot during the summer. It was a monumental event in the life of a two year old. Darling.

Six months old and LOVING it!!!

Six month olds are the BEST!! How great is it when you can go from crying your eyes out to laughing like crazy in a blink of an eye??? This is Olivia who you all might remember from her newborn session in March...(see previous blog entry dated March 11, 2008). Well, now she is 6 months old and full of personality and smiles...with the exception of one shortlived moment of tears! We love photographing this family and can't wait to see Olivia in the spring when she turns one!

Baby Feet Winner: Erin from Burlington, Ontario, Canada! An entry all the way from Canada! Awesome! Erin captured her 5 month old daughter's first time having her feet in the ocean while visiting West Palm Beach, Florida! Look at those chubby feet!! We love it!!

Kids' Feet Entry: Lisa from Maple Grove, Minnesota. Capturing 3 kids four years old and younger is never an easy task but this image turned out great!! Lisa wrote, "Oh well...at least I will have proof that they actually wore these shoes (and I LOVED it) when they graduate in 13+ years!" They may never believe this footwear was in style!!

Kids' Entry Winner: Kate, age 9 from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Kate is an aspiring photographer who impressed us with her talents! She captured this image of her mom's feet on the rocks in the Headwaters of the Mississippi while visiting Lake Itasca for vacation this summer. Love mom's pink toes!!!

Sweet Feet Contest entry!!!

This was our first entry in the Sweet Feet Contest that we launched last week!! We received this photo from Burlington, Canada, of Baby Isabella's feet...how cute are those toes???? Isabella's mom sent in the photo from 6 month old Isabella's first time with sand on her feet taken while they were vacationing in West Palm Beach, Florida last month. Yah!! Thanks, Erin, for submitting the first photo in our contest!!

Since then, we have received several other great entries which we will continue to post during the duration of the contest. All entries must be received by August 31st.
We encourage our youngest clients to submit their photos as well! It is amazing to see what a 6 year old and a camera can create!!

Sweet Feet Contest

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first photography contest for everyone who shares our zest for creating great photography! We are now accepting entries to our contest theme Sweet Feet. All you have to do is snap some pictures of (you guessed it) feet. All sizes and shapes are welcome...baby feet, grown up feet...maybe even some animal feet! Take pictures anywhere from your backyard, to the beach, to the castles of Europe.

Spring in the City

Yes, spring is here...although it doesn't quite feel like it yet! These siblings came in a couple of weeks ago to the studio for a photo session and we were lucky enough to head outside for some images in downtown Saint Paul's Mears Park. Aren't they are best looking siblings around? These images really captured their fun and loving relationships with each other. They are very sweet with one another! We can't wait for their parents to come back to their viewing appointment soon and see everything....they are going to be thrilled!

I love my toes

(Not so) Little Willie has discovered his feet - how sweet! He curled his toes and held on, happy as can be. What a hoot! He's such a sweet little baby boy, and such a joy to have in the studio. I could not get over how big he has gotten in such a short period of time. It really goes fast. When Willie showed up at the studio in his adorable winter hat I just couldn't resist. I love hats, I do!
