Celebrating sisters!

We were so fortunate to meet this cute family recently after they were the winning recipient of our donated gift certificate at the Luther College Silent Auction! We love supporting education and schools! And we get to meet the best families!!

Sisters Brynn, 8, and Elise, 5, were a hoot to hang out with and photograph! Is there anything cuter than sisters?!?  They chatted Melissa up about everything girly-including dance, gymnastics, ballet, books and art! We wish they could have stayed all day!!  We loved watching the interaction between the sisters and the love and silliness that ensues!

Sparkle and shine!

We all could use a little more sparkle in our lives!  These three cuties had no idea that we had planned to use our very sparkly, very glittery, very fun background for their session so when they came in they were super excited to see such a festive studio!!  And their outfits couldn't have been better suited for this level of glam!! Adeline, Eli and Stella are siblings that always make us smile and we adore seeing them grow up before us! (stay tuned for Adeline's toothless session on the blog very soon!) While we enter another arctic plunge here in Minnesota this week, try to find some sparkle and shine to brighten up your days!!

Silly sisters!!

Don't you wish we could all be as carefree as these two sweet sisters, Charlotte and Caroline and their dog, Lulu?  (Lulu is THE Lulu from the petstore and grooming paw-lour Lulu & Luigi in the Twin Cities!) Their pretty sundresses, flowers in their hair, the light summer breeze-it all seems so light hearted and fun.  The girls loved exploring their surroundings-whether it was playing in the stream or picking flowers for their mommy-we were able to capture that innocence and sisterly love.  As the days get shorter and the weather turns colder, we need to keep days like these in mind!! 

The faces of Wild Child Hair!!

Since Wild Child Hair opened in Woodbury in 2009, we have been thrilled to decorate their walls with Miroslavich Photography portraits as part of our displays.  Each year we switch out images and we always love hearing the reactions and excitement the staff (and their clients!) have when new portraits go up!  Many of clients go to Wild Child for their kids' haircuts and we have met many new clients as a result of their referrals!! So, it was only fitting that Melissa Fink, Wild Child's owner, had her two sweet girls come to the studio this summer for a session! Bridget and Chelsea had a blast - Chelsea loved playing up the camera while Bridget was initially a little more reserved until she realized what fun her sister as having!!  Three new portraits of the girls are now proudly displayed in Wild Child.  Make sure to check out Wild Child for your next haircuts!! http://wildchildhair.com/

13th Birthday blast!

There are many times when Melissa and I wish we were 13 again, and this party definitely made us envious that we aren't! Kate (who you may recognize as one of our ZOOM camp graduates from a few years back!) turned 13 and her parents wanted to throw her a party to remember that would mean a lot to her. Given Kate's love and talent for photography, Kate's mom asked if we would help her organize a party combining Kate's passion for photography and her love for her friends. We had balloons, cake, some serious high heel shoes, lots of laughter, super cool glitter and nine giggly 13 year old girls!! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting each and every one of Kate's friends - we can see why they have a special place in Kate's heart. Happy Birthday, sweet Kate! We love seeing you become such a strong, lovely, kind and fun teenager!

Thanks and Giving 2010

Many of you may recall that each Thanksgiving, we ask for your nominations of a family in need who would cherish the gift of photography in the years to come. A family who may have experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, has someone in their family that is terminally ill or someone who is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. Each year we are overwhelmed and humbled by the nominations. And 2010 was no different. We thought we would share with you this family's images taken this past summer at their home and yard. It was such a pleasure for us to meet them and give them the gift of photography. We know this will hold a special place in their home and hearts in the years to come. We also thought we would share with you the note this family sent us after their session:

We are ready for our Seniors 2012!

It is that time of year already!! While we all prepare for summer, there is a whole new crew of soon-to-be high school seniors who are already preparing for senior year! It always surprises us when we start getting calls about senior sessions in May-we love that these juniors are so excited for their final year of high school! We love their energy, enthusiasm and zest for life. We thought we would post a few of our seniors from past years-it is fun to see what they are all doing now!

Zoom Photography Camp for Kids!

Now that is is May, we are gearing up for ZOOM Camp next month!! We still have a couple of spots available for campers so if you have a 10-13 year old who loves photography, call us today!!

June 13-16 2011 from 9:30am-12:30pm daily.

The camp will be held at our Saint Paul studio location, in addition to local Saint Paul locations within walking distance of the studio.

During the week we will be creating a portfolio of images that will be displayed at the Zoom Art Show by the campers on Thursday June 23 in the evening (this was definitely one of the big highlights of camp last time). Images will demonstrate knowledge gained of basic composition, camera controls, location shooting and portraiture. Each camper must bring a digital camera (SLR preferred).

Tutu cute!!

Ava and Audrey (how cute are those names for sisters?!?) came to one of our Tutus and Tiptoes sessions back in February and boy, did they have fun!! These sessions are always some of our favorite sessions of the year-how can you not just love these super-girly, darling sessions with barefeet and poofy tutus?! We loved capturing these sisters together and on their own as their darling personalities shone through. Such a special time!!

Sweet sisters

How darling are these two sisters?!? Ivy, just over a year old, and Zoe, age 6, first came to us for our Santa Mini-sessions in the fall. They had so much fun that their mom decided to bring them back for a session all about being sisters as a Christmas present for Dad. Ivy, who was initially a wee bit shy, rocked the session which included some time in tutus! It didn't take long before Ivy was taking charge! Zoe, the doting big sister, helped "art direct" part of the session by choosing the tutus and the background to be used. She has quite the eye. We also spent some of the session focussing on Zoe on her own, allowing Melissa to create a stunning art piece all about Zoe being 6 years old. Precious. These two girls lit up the studio and we can't wait for them to come back!

Happy New Year!! We are back from holidays and ready to start 2011 with a bang!! We are so excited to announce our next big event-Tutus and Tiptoes Mini-Sessions! On Thursday February 3, 2011, the studio will be filled with giggles, girls and lots of tutus! Back by popular demand...we have had so many requests to bring back this event, we have decided to offer this month in time for Valentine's Day! This will be an event you will not want to miss. During your 15 minute mini-session, we will provide the fabulous tutus (very couture) or you can bring your own. Capturing cute barefeet, playful smiles, and many twirls= it is a day to remember! Session fee for this special event is $49. We will have special packages to choose from that are available exclusively for these mini-sessions.

More summer fun...

Can you tell what a fantastic summer we have had photographing? This was truly a special session! First, we had two of our longtime favorite sisters, Hazel and Iris, to photograph-then we added an awesome summer morning and finally we mixed in some bright red balloons = an outstanding session! (and believe it or not, I think we only lost 2 balloons the entire time!) We love Hazel and Iris (and their mom & dad, too) and seeing them grow up. They are a bundle of fun..and their giggles are contagious! We know the memory of this summer sisters session (say that three times fast!) will bring a smile to our faces for a long time to come!!
