It's great to be 4!!!

Oh, to have the energy of a 4 year old!!  There are many days I wish I could channel their energy!  Meet Zoe- a energetic, enthusiastic and very sweet 4 year old who entertained us at the studio a few weeks ago! And how about these curls???  We had a grand old time with Zoe- tutus, fancy clothes, pajamas and bubbles!  Who wouldn't have fun?!?  Watching Zoe have fun with the bubbles and the pure delight and excitement on her face was priceless.  We are so thrilled to have captured these sweet moments for her family.

Tutu cute!!

Ava and Audrey (how cute are those names for sisters?!?) came to one of our Tutus and Tiptoes sessions back in February and boy, did they have fun!! These sessions are always some of our favorite sessions of the year-how can you not just love these super-girly, darling sessions with barefeet and poofy tutus?! We loved capturing these sisters together and on their own as their darling personalities shone through. Such a special time!!

Happy New Year!! We are back from holidays and ready to start 2011 with a bang!! We are so excited to announce our next big event-Tutus and Tiptoes Mini-Sessions! On Thursday February 3, 2011, the studio will be filled with giggles, girls and lots of tutus! Back by popular demand...we have had so many requests to bring back this event, we have decided to offer this month in time for Valentine's Day! This will be an event you will not want to miss. During your 15 minute mini-session, we will provide the fabulous tutus (very couture) or you can bring your own. Capturing cute barefeet, playful smiles, and many twirls= it is a day to remember! Session fee for this special event is $49. We will have special packages to choose from that are available exclusively for these mini-sessions.

Giggles and Whispers!!!

Isabel and Greta are sisters with great energy, infectious laughter and playful spirits! Our photo session included some time in the studio photographing the girls in the most precious white, vintage dresses...stunning! After some time outdoors in summery sundresses, the girls changed into tutus for some final images back in the studio. And we even included mom and dad during this session! The result? We have almost completed a fine art book of all of the images so they can savor this session forever! (we can't wait for mom and dad to see it!!!)

New Photo Contest....Music to My Ears!!

A recent photo session inspired our current photo contest! (Grant brought his cello to his session and impressed up immensely with his talent!) All you have to do is take pictures of anything you feel relates to music and write a couple of words about why it sounds good to your ears! Maybe it is your 2 year old "making music" with pots and pans or a recent rock concert you attended at First Avenue...you decide! More PJ Party fun!!!

Check out this sleepyhead!! What a beauty! This is Miss Madi who lit up the studio with her personality and charm when she was in for our PJ Party session this past summer! The feathers were a huge hit (you should have seen the studio at the end of the day..what a mess!...however, it was all worth it!) Madi even had a wardrobe change so she could wear two different pairs of jammies! Fantastic!! Bedtime has never been this much fun!

Girlie Session!

As a charter member of the "moms-to-boys-only" club, I am always excited for our girlie girl sessions (somehow I don't think my husband would be overly thrilled if I had Melissa do a photo session with Bennett, Blake & Max in tu-tu's!) and Allison's session was very much girlie!!! What a doll! Allison was insistent that she wear the multi-color tutu despite the fact that mom preferred the more subtle lavender tutu...however, this first image ended up being mom's favorite! Could she get any cuter?!?! Mom loved all of the images and she had the best line during our viewing session..."These images make me feel all pink inside!" I couldn't sum it up better!!!

Welcome Baby Phoenix!!!

There is nothing better than a sleeping baby! Baby Phoenix came to the studio at 8 days of age....he definitely slept for some of the session but he was definitely awake for part of it, too (he was super alert for 8 days old)! This was a precious session!! Big sister, Payton, who just celebrated her 5th birthday, joined in the session as well. You can tell how much she ADORES her baby brother...just look at the image of them together! We also captured Payton jumping and playing and having a blast!! The image of her with the tutu up in a huge ball made us laugh so hard (you should have heard us in the viewing appointment with mom and grandma! what a party!!) Congratulations to a wonderful family on this new addition to their lives!!

Congratulations, Melissa!!

Melissa is far too modest to brag about this herself but I had to announce it to everyone as we are so proud of her! Two portraits created by Melissa have recently been accepted into the General Collection of the 117th International Exhibition of Professional Photography. Melissa's work will be on display at the Phoenix Convention Center, January 11-13, 2009, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Approximately 4514 entries were submitted to the Professional Photographers of American's (PPA's) International Print Competition, from which a panel of more 20 eminent photographers from across the United States selected the images that would comprise the 2008 General and Loan Collections... the most prestigious awards. Titled "Spinning in the Rain" and "Passing Time", Melissa's entries will be in Phoenix alongside other photographic works from not only PPA's print competition but also travelling and special invitational displays. These images constitute the world's largest annual exhibit of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.
Way to go, Melissa!!

PJ Party Update.....

PJ Party - Wednesday July 30th & Thursday July 31st!

Our PJ Party Session idea has been a huge hit!! Currently, we have 3 sessions remaining during the two day event so if you are thinking about booking, we encourage you to call very soon... 651.343.4823. In addition to many of our "regular" clients, we are excited to meet many new clients who will be coming to us for the first time! We even have a dad, a pregnant mom and a 4 year old daughter who are planning on all coming in their PJs. You may even get to see Melissa and I in our jammies!

The creation fee for this special event is $100 and includes a complimentary gift portrait (value $230). A special framed portrait panel will be available exclusively for this event as well.

So, get your PJs, your favorite bedtime toy or book and join us for a fun session. (did we mention pillow fights????)

Siblings together!

We met these darling siblings a few weeks ago as a result of their parents bidding on and "winning" a gift certificate from Miroslavich Photography at the Silent Auction for Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion School. We have been very fortunate to meet some great families as a result of several Silent Auctions this spring! Thank you for supporting these wonderful schools/organizations!

Mitchell, Paige and Cole (Paige and Cole are twins) were very fun to photograph! As you can see from their images, we captured some great "traditional" shots and also some really fun ones, too! Mitchell really liked the "skywalks" (a.k.a. the skyways!) that are everywhere downtown so we had have some photos of them playing there! Cole was quite the entertainer and has us convinced he will have a career in modern dance someday!

We are so thrilled that their mom loved everything and can't wait to see their family portrait hanging over their mantle very soon!!!

Madison Claire Foundation

Last Wednesday night, we had the honor of being involved in an extraordinary evening. The Millington's, a family we have gotten to know over the past year, organized an American Idol Finale Bash at Prestwick Golf Course in Woodbury. Their foundation was created in the memory of their daughter, Madison Claire Millington, and dedicated to helping children and families diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and other life threatening illnesses & disabilities. All proceeds from the evening went toward the building of a barrier free playground
in Woodbury. The event was a tremendous success with over 50 families attending and

$15 000 raised for the playground! Whoohoo!! And to top it off, everyone there had a blast!! There was a kids' buffet, an adult buffet, kids' raffle, kids (and adult) karaoke, a silent auction and TWO HUGE SCREENS showing the American Idol finale! We even had the pleasure of two Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders who posed for photos and signed autographs.

Whether you were cheering for David Cook or David Archuleta, everyone went home a winner! Thanks to everyone there who made the evening such a success!!

Singing in the rain!

Even on one of our yucky rainy spring days, we made it outside for part of this session! Doesn't Frankie make you want to sing in the rain? She was not bothered by the less than ideal conditions and this top image has become a favourite of ours. She and her mom and her grandma had a lovely session with us. We will post more on this generational session soon...it has inspired us to develop a special event! More to come.... Thank heaven for little girls indeed!
