Julia turns 5!!

Our little friend Julia turned 5 years old last month and brightened our day by lighting up the studio with her sweet smile!  It was bittersweet for us to photograph Julia's 5 year old session- we have been photographing this lovely family for years.  We have photographed her big brothers since they were just little babes!!  And now, Julia, the "little sister" is a big girl who is 5!! How is that possible?  Weren't we just photographing her newborn session with her brothers gazing lovingly at the little pink bundle of joy?!?  Can't these kiddos stay little forever?!?   We adore capturing families as they grow big and cannot wait to see how they continue to grow up and become big people!  Happy 5th birthday, lovely Miss Julia!!

Emma - Class of 2014

Whew!  What a whirlwind month we have had at the studio meeting new high school seniors and re-connecting with a few of our now-senior clients!   We have had sessions with seniors all over the Twin Cities- St Paul Academy,  Hill Murray,  Cretin Derham, Sibley, East Ridge and Tartan!  We love the energy and enthusiasm these sessions bring to the studio!!  Emma is a senior whom met a couple of years ago with big brother Gabe ( http://miroslavichphotography.blogspot.com/2011/11/gabriel-class-of-2012.html) came for his senior portraits!  Emma came to the studio game for anything we suggested and ready with various outfit changes!  Big bro, Gabe, came with and even helped out with the session!  Love this pair!! Since then we have been lucky enough to meet and photograph some of Emma's senior pals from her high school and we couldn't be happier!!  Watch for many more senior blog posts this fall- and if you still haven't scheduled your senior session, it's not too late! Call us at 651.343.4823.  Yearbook deadlines for senior images start this month so don't wait til the last minute!!

All the way to Minnesota!

This lovely session happened way back in the summer but we have been a little behind on some of our blog posts (one of the downfalls of being so busy!)However, we haven't forgotten darling Sophia who is 17 months old at the time of this session. What a doll! Sophia is the youngest of 4 children so you know she gets lots of love at home! Sophia's family has been coming to us for family portraits for many years. We were very sad when they moved away from Minnesota to Pennsylvania two years ago. So you can imagine how delighted we were when Sophia's mom called to book a session during their trip back to Minnesota this summer?! And you can imagine how overjoyed we were when we learned they are planning to move back here very soon! It has been an honor and pleasure for us to capture this sweet family over the years. And we look forward to many more photo sessions in the years to come! (stay tuned for images of all the siblings in another blog post soon!)

Three sisters!

If you are a faithful blog follower of ours, you will have noticed a recent run on "sister sessions"! We have had many girls sessions lately...funny how that happens!! Next month, it will probably be all boys! This darling trio were a blast to photograph! Not having any sisters myself, when I see these images, I feel like I have missed out on this great club "sisterhood". You can tell that these girls' friendship will reach well into adulthood. They are very blessed!

Day One of Zoom Photography Camp for Kids!!

Zoom Camp Week has finally arrived!! Whoohoo!! Today was Day One and what a great day we had!! We have 4 "campers" (unfortunately, we had a last minute cancellation of our fifth camper) who arrived ready and eager to learn!! You can see them below...Coltra, Bennett, Kate and Carly!
After meeting in the studio and getting to know each other for awhile, we ventured across the street to Mears Park. It was a perfect afternoon to photograph outdoors....warm, a little overcast and no wind! Today's topic included perspective so the campers experimented at the park photographing from different perspectives....high/low, up close/far away, etc.

Seeing how the campers used perspectives to "tell a story" even showed Melissa and I different and unique ways to photograph in the park....we may be using these in upcoming photo sessions, you never know!
This motley crew of figurines were our "models" today as we asked the campers photograph them from many different angles to demonstrate perspective. You may be seeing more of these guys this week!
Camp wouldn't be camp without the fun, camp games we all love!! Our day included popping balloons to find hidden messages inside as a way to get to know each other!! Super fun!!
The campers will have lots of images to share and we will be posting some of them next week after their Art Show...more on that to come!!

A taste of spring....from Sprigs!!!

Okay, if Spring is going to take its time getting to us, then we will bring Spring to the studio! Last week, we had a very fun photo session with our friends at Sprigs (www.sprigsfloraldesign.com) who brought Spring to us by filling the studio with some of their "permanent botanicals" - stunning creations designed by Carol. We photographed the floral designs for them to include on their website. With Spring (hopefully) around the corner, Sprigs is busy getting ready to start planting their outdoor container arrangements.
Hope you enjoy this small taste of the season to come!!

Spring is in the air!

The sunglasses, daisy flowers on her dress, warm smiles...doesn't Marit make you think of Spring? Since today is the first official day of Spring, I thought these images from Marit's recent session were more than fitting...especially since we woke up to a thin layer of snow here in Minnesota this morning!!!
Marit just turned 4 recently and came in for her own photo session. She was absolutely adorable...and we can't wait to meet her younger sister, Ingrid, in May when she comes in for her session. Happy Spring!!!

Happy Valentine's Day from our first baby of 2009!!

We are tickled pink to announce the arrival of Baby Sadie Grace...what a sweetheart! And with Valentine's Day this weekend, we couldn't have picked a better time to show her off to all of you (we have had several requests for her images lately so thank you to our blog readers for your patience!!) Sadie is also our first baby of 2009, born January 9th 2009, into a beautiful family with two sons already, Jon Riley and Payne. She is being spoiled rotten by her big brothers who are ever so sweet with her! We love this family and couldn't be happier for them!(This image below has to be my favorite....check out the expression on 2 year old Payne!!)

(Jon Riley...could he be any more stunning?)
