Brand new Baby Jax!!!

Remember this darling family from about a month ago?!? Jackie was pregnant with Baby Jax and they came in for a family of 3 portrait just before welcoming Jax into the family. Well, let us introduce you to Baby Jax!! He came into the studio when he was 3 days old! We love sleeping babies!! Jax is super lucky to have such a doting big brother, Jose, who absolutely LOVES him!! Congratulations to a very sweet family of 4! We look forward to capturing the first year in the life of Jax!!

Update on our Stories Event!

A couple of weeks ago, we kicked off the start of spring with our annual Stories Event to celebrate the new season, give back to the community and have fun with our clients and friends!! And we certainly accomplished all of that! We are proud to report that our event raised $695 for the Dakota Woodlands - a non-profit organization who supply shelter for homeless families in our community. Everyone who attended Stories brought with them $5 gift cards to either a grocery store or gas station to donate to Dakota Woodlands who in turn, give them to residents when they leave the shelter.

In addition to that, the studio was ROCKIN'! We had over 75 grown ups and kids there to enjoy a morning of story-telling, facepainting, a little shopping for the grown ups, and yummy cookies! It couldn't have been more fun!! Lots of people to thank: Dakota Woodlands for being present to answer questions and talk about their shelter (and for putting together a great silent auction table!), Tricia Prodoehl from Doodle Dot Designs for showcasing darling kids fashions, Allison Carl from Stella & Dot for bringing her spring line to share, Bath Bars by Brynn for debuting her new bath product line, facepainting by Cindy's Creative Celebration, delish cookies from Lucky C's Treats and fabulous storytelling by Wonder Weavers Storytellers ....in addition to the family and friends who helped make our event such a success (especially Jeff & Pat who helped "man" the door!!)

We have already started planning next year's Stories Event! Can't wait!!

Giggles and Smiles!

A couple of weeks ago, my sister-in-law and niece visited us from Canada. It was a very special visit as my brother-in-law has been transferred to Moscow, Russia and they are all moving there for 2 years! Their trip to Minnesota was to say farewell to us (and do a little outlet shopping, too!) before their big move...and we couldn't have been happier to have visitors!! Two year old, Isabella, adores her three boy cousins in Minnesota...and as you can see from these images, the feelings are mutual! It was extra special to have their portraits taken together to remind us of their time with us and their bonds as cousins! We wish them all the best in this new adventure in their lives!! xoxo

Sweet Baby Eleanor

We are pleased to introduce Baby Eleanor! The baby sister of two very proud big brothers, Brennan and Davis! We have been photographing oldest brother Brennan since he was a baby so we are tickled pink (literally!) to be capturing the newborn moments of their baby sister! Despite the fact that she was only 5 days old at this photo session, Eleanor was wide awake and alert...taking it all in! Finally, at the very end, she fell fast asleep...likely exhausted from all of the activity! Big brothers were big helps and very proud of their new baby! Dad and Mom seem to be adjusting very well to the new addition and lack of sleep! Mom bought this adorable tutu for Eleanor while she was pregnant so we were delighted to incorporate it into this session...although she will be well grown out of it by the time we see them all again for her 6 month session! Savor these moments...they fly by all too quickly!!!

Positively Glowing!

Truly, Jane looks like a Greek goddess in these maternity images! Have you ever seen a more stunning mommy-to-be?!? We had an amazing time capturing these beautiful moments for Jane and her husband, Garrett, who are expecting a baby girl this June. Of course, their dog, Duke, had to be included and he couldn't have been better! (I can't wait to hear how he reacts to the new baby!) They are a lovely family and we look forward to meeting Baby Ellie when they bring her to the studio for her newborn session! Congratulations (and have a lovely baby shower)!

This Saturday April 10th -Stories Event!!!! (Twin Cities Photographer)

Yippee! This weekend is our 3rd annual event to celebrate spring, have fun with the kids and give back to our community. It is being held on Saturday April 10th from 10am - 12 noon at the studio. Feel free to park in the lot adjacent to the building. We are inviting clients, friends and family to attend and have a great time!

The charity we have chosen to support this year is Dakota Woodlands. Dakota Woodlands is a non-profit organization who supply shelter for homeless families in our community. Typically families stay an average two months in the facility and they provide temporary housing for up to 110 families a year. In November of 2009, Dakota Woodlands was awarded the 2009 Minnesota Nonprofit Excellence Award. Dakota Woodlands is asking for our help in collecting $5 gift cards to local gas stations and grocery stores. We have set a goal for us to collect 145 gift cards at our Stories event and we think we can do it - with your help!! Or, if you would prefer to make a monetary donation, we will purchase the gift card(s) on your behalf! I know our kids have already dipped into their piggy banks to count out their $5!

Also in support of Dakota Woodlands, we will be having a small silent auction with items such as digital picture frames, a camping gear package, a board game package...just to name a few!

Of course, back by popular demand, we will have an amazing facepainter (who is an artist herself!) and storyteller, balloon maker! The kids (and grown ups) were blown away by the entertainment last year and it will be super great this year too.

And if that wasn't enough, we will also be featuring the local businesses of Doodle Dot Designs by Tricia Prodoehl (handmade children's clothing and accessories to die for!), Stella and Dot Jewelry with stylist Allison Carl (who doesn't need some new spring jewels?!) and the debut of Bath Bars by Brynn.
