Many of you may recall that each Thanksgiving, we ask for your nominations of a family in need who would cherish the gift of photography in the years to come. A family who may have experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, has someone in their family that is terminally ill or someone who is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. Each year we are overwhelmed and humbled by the nominations. And 2010 was no different. We thought we would share with you this family's images taken this past summer at their home and yard. It was such a pleasure for us to meet them and give them the gift of photography. We know this will hold a special place in their home and hearts in the years to come. We also thought we would share with you the note this family sent us after their session:
"Melissa and Robin,
We are so thrilled you chose our family for the thanks and giving gift. It is hard to express in words how much this means to us.
As parents of a sick child we cherish every moment that she is well enough to enjoy life and spend time with her brother and sisters, just hanging out, having fun on a beautiful summer day.
You captured that in the beautiful portraits. It means the world to us to have these to look at forever.
You could not have given a more generous and kindhearted gift.
We appreciate you so very much and thank you with all our hearts.
