Melissa is far too modest to brag about this herself but I had to announce it to everyone as we are so proud of her! Two portraits created by Melissa have recently been accepted into the General Collection of the 117th International Exhibition of Professional Photography. Melissa's work will be on display at the Phoenix Convention Center, January 11-13, 2009, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Approximately 4514 entries were submitted to the Professional Photographers of American's (PPA's) International Print Competition, from which a panel of more 20 eminent photographers from across the United States selected the images that would comprise the 2008 General and Loan Collections... the most prestigious awards. Titled "Spinning in the Rain" and "Passing Time", Melissa's entries will be in Phoenix alongside other photographic works from not only PPA's print competition but also travelling and special invitational displays. These images constitute the world's largest annual exhibit of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.
Way to go, Melissa!!

Summer Rain Shower
We had the best rain shower Friday afternoon - very wet, very fast, and then sunshine! The girls were more than happy to run around in the pouring rain, and even happier to splash along the curb.
They were soaking wet in no time flat and all giggles!
I know I probably shouldn't be able to enter the Sweet Feet contest (since I am helping to judge it). If I could this would definitely be one...

Sweet Feet Contest entry!!!
This was our first entry in the Sweet Feet Contest that we launched last week!! We received this photo from Burlington, Canada, of Baby Isabella's feet...how cute are those toes???? Isabella's mom sent in the photo from 6 month old Isabella's first time with sand on her feet taken while they were vacationing in West Palm Beach, Florida last month. Yah!! Thanks, Erin, for submitting the first photo in our contest!!
Since then, we have received several other great entries which we will continue to post during the duration of the contest. All entries must be received by August 31st.
We encourage our youngest clients to submit their photos as well! It is amazing to see what a 6 year old and a camera can create!!
Email your entries to robin@miroslavichphotography.com !

Our PJ Party Session idea has been a huge hit!! Currently, we have 3 sessions remaining during the two day event so if you are thinking about booking, we encourage you to call very soon... 651.343.4823. In addition to many of our "regular" clients, we are excited to meet many new clients who will be coming to us for the first time! We even have a dad, a pregnant mom and a 4 year old daughter who are planning on all coming in their PJs. You may even get to see Melissa and I in our jammies! The creation fee for this special event is $100 and includes a complimentary gift portrait (value $230). A special framed portrait panel will be available exclusively for this event as well.
So, get your PJs, your favorite bedtime toy or book and join us for a fun session. (did we mention pillow fights????)
Choo Choo!!
Meet 8 month old Jack! These awesome images are his second session with Miroslavich Photography as he is a part of our Baby Collection (have we mentioned before how much we LOVE seeing babies get big???) Such a difference from his previous session when he was days old and spent the whole session either sleeping or peeing on his mom and dad!
Jack has a thing for trains so we captured him doing what he does best...playing with them! He was rockin' that conductor's hat! And the wooden trains were just as much fun to eat as they were to play with!! Jack's parents came in last week for their viewing appointment and chose their favorite images to add to the image box they have ordered to hold their precious photographs from each of their 3 sessions with us this year! It was a difficult task but we had fun deciding together. Now we are looking forward to his year old session and completing the images for the box! Yah!

Siblings together!
To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. ~Clara Ortega
We met these darling siblings a few weeks ago as a result of their parents bidding on and "winning" a gift certificate from Miroslavich Photography at the Silent Auction for Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion School. We have been very fortunate to meet some great families as a result of several Silent Auctions this spring! Thank you for supporting these wonderful schools/organizations!
Mitchell, Paige and Cole (Paige and Cole are twins) were very fun to photograph! As you can see from their images, we captured some great "traditional" shots and also some really fun ones, too! Mitchell really liked the "skywalks" (a.k.a. the skyways!) that are everywhere downtown so we had have some photos of them playing there! Cole was quite the entertainer and has us convinced he will have a career in modern dance someday!
We are so thrilled that their mom loved everything and can't wait to see their family portrait hanging over their mantle very soon!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!
We had a great time at the annual neighborhood party! The weather was amazing, everyone enjoyed the atmoshphere, and the kids made it all the way through fireworks (my little one wanted to be play soccer instead of actually watching ... ha!). I had my Canon PowerShot SD800 with and here are some of my favorites from the day. Happy 4th! Stay tuned for the NEXT big event of the summer at Miroslavich Photography...
